This 1850’s dug Jules Hauel & C0. “Premium Almond Cream” red transfer Pot Lid and matching base comes from Philadelphia, Pa. The lid measures 2-3/4″ OD. Jules Hauel was a very active druggist in early Philadelphia. He started his business in 1839. The matching base has his first business address of “No. 120 Chestnut Street” on it. He moved from that address in 1851 to a new factory that he built at 170 Chestnut Street. The lid has some minor chipping on the outer base edge in two areas. The matching base has some roughness on the top inner edge. The base bottom is free of any damage, otherwise the lid and base combo are in excellent overall condition, and display very nicely when assembled for viewing.
