This 1850’s dug Bazin’s Ambrosial “Shaving Cream” purple transfer Pot Lid and matching base comes from Philadelphia, Pa. The lid measures 3″ OD. X. Bazin was a very active druggist in Philadelphia learning the trade from E. Roussel. He started his business in the mid 1850’s and by the mid 1860’s, he had built a very large business. The domed lid is perfect with some minor stain on the bottom edge. The matching base has some roughness and a small spot of discoloration on the top inner edge. The base bottom is free of any damage, otherwise the lid and base combo are in excellent overall condition, and display very nicely when assembled for viewing.
